What is EGD (Environmental Graphic Design/ XGD (Experiential Graphic Design)?

EGD/ XGD is a strategic intervention for our holistic human-centered Workplace Design approach incorporating Future of Work principles. It is a multidisciplinary field of design in which the disciplines of graphic design, architecture, art, lighting, landscape, technology, branding, culture and other fields are utilized as a way to enhance the user experience through the visual translation of ideas in the built environment which tells a story effectively. It helps connect people to the place through a layered experience in which brand identity, imagery, and sense of place are enhanced through emotional triggers and touchpoints within a spatial experience. It basically comprises of 3 aspects:
  1. PLACEMAKING [meeting basic functional, emotional & aspirational needs]
  2. BRANDING [showcasing your Brand Compass & Brand Pillars]
  3. WAYFINDING [promotes legibility & certainty in the environment]​​​
"We strongly believe we're moving toward a world where we value 'experience per square meter in the workplace' This is because today's workplace model is experiential and emotional rather than just about productivity".While engagement is essential for optimising workplace needs, immersive environments created through XGD/ EGD  create the deepest form of engagement between people, processes & technologies - all components of change management within an organisation.
